![]() The Children's Party Bus visited Greenhill, The Horsefair & Broadwaters on Wednesday 20th Feb. The whole day was a major success with well over 60 young people having a great time on the bus. By the time we got up to Sion Hill at 2.30pm there was a very large queue waiting for us! Both parents and children were very appreciative of free safe & fun activities during the school holidays and made the most of the free healthy drinks and snacks provided. Whilst the children played in the soft play area, ball pit and on the slides the parents/carers were asked for their opinions of the area by our newly trained team of volunteer 'Community Researchers'. As £1million is coming to the area and residents get to decide how this is used we wanted to find out what people like about the area, what they would like to change and what ideas they had on what the money could do for the area. All of the views will then be fed into a 'profile' of the area that will show what the priorities are for the local community. We also wanted to find out what local children think about the area, so whilst they took a break from playing (free fruit & drinks!) they were asked what they 'love' and what they 'don't like' about the area and what they 'wish' for. Again their views will be used to set the priorities for the project. In addition to all the children having a great day and our researchers finding out people views of the area we were also able recruit some new members for the Big Local DY10 Steering Group! All in all a great day for our community! More photographs will be added shortly
